HISTORY

The Port of Santa María entered its commercial splendor from the 16th century, becoming one of the most important ports in Spain and the starting point to connect Europe with America.

The merchants, also called “Cargadores de Indias” settled in El Puerto de Santa María, building houses and recreational estates, what today are the Palace Houses. So much so, that the city was nicknamed “The city of 100 palaces”.

This is how Casa Palacio Sur was born, an old Casa Palacio renovated to new, maintaining the original structures and materials, transforming itself into a magical destination to visit El Puerto de Santa María.
